National borders are becoming increasingly less important in financial markets, in goods and services markets and in labour markets. In Europe, this process is being reinforced by the Economic and Monetary Union. As a consequence, private as well as public organizations are becoming players in a European and even world-wide playing field. Therefore, employers are in need of economists who can tackle the international aspects of various economic problems in a professional way. The Bachelor of Science programme in Economics aims to prepare students for this task.
Economics is a three-year undergraduate programme leading to a Bachelor of Science degree. The programme covers the knowledge areas of microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics, as well as specific knowledge of several other core fields in economics and business (International Trade, Public Sector Economics, Development Economics and Financial Economics). The strong research reputation of Tilburg University is also reflected in the courses, offering students a solid academic background in all its courses. |
